Lets see....

*My herbs have died. I never even had the chance to cook with them (tear)

*Only 7 more days of work left! Can't wait to sleep in, lay out, travel and read

*My family is the greatest! They are watching our babies right now, and its been a nice break!

*Dillon is taking me out this Friday for a late anniversary- hopefully it will be a blog-worthy time

*Dillon only has 1 more final and then he will be done with his first year of seminary

*My mom made these desserts called Lemon Blossoms by Paula Deen, and I am in LOVE

*Friday is field day-Im excited! Dillon had never heard of field day until a few weeks ago-weird

*I am feeling behind in life right now. Our house is a mess, I have several friends I need to call
back, and I havent cooked a meal in 2 weeks. And we still need to watch the Lost Finale

*Reading 2 new books

Bullets seemed fitting today- lots going on, but not much exciting to talk about

May 20, 2006

3 years.

Full of: Laughs. Trips. Quarrels. Moving. Growing. Sharing. Learning. Praying.

So much has happened to us as husband and wife. Graduation, buying a house, leaving familiarity for a new town. Adjusting to new jobs, learning to cook and clean. Leading together, and finding joy in each other. Facing challenges and pursuing decisions that will never be regretted. Supporting.

I remember our vows. I remember knowing, he was the one. And always will be.

I can’t believe all of the memories and life changes that have been crammed into just 3 years….I can only imagine what more the Lord holds for us as we continue on over the years.

I see that Dillon is just what I need. Different from me, in good ways, and yet we share weird traits as well.

As I reflect on the treasure of my spouse, I also must mourn with those who have lost theirs, or perhaps long for one.

This is a bittersweet anniversary. We are more thankful, but with heavy hearts.

Tom and Cindy had a beautiful marriage. She was a good cook, loving mom, and supportive wife. Tom lived for her, to please her and found great delight in her company.

For an anniversary gift, my parents are sending us here in July:

Its a strange feeling sitting down to type words that you would never want to.

Dillons mom, Cindy, passed away on May 12 after finding out in October that she had breast cancer. Im not going to discuss much about it, other than to say she was incredibly brave, and was out for mothers day at Abuelo's just 2 days before. The service was yesterday, and many people were there to show their love for her. Please continue to pray for Tom, Dillons dad.

One man's trash....

About 2 years ago I went garage saling with 2 friends in Dumas. I LOVE finding a good deal, as I have mentioned. We got up at about 6am, drove in to Amarillo and searched all morning for treasures. I had not found anything by late morning, and as we pulled into one last garage I wasnt feeling hopeful. But- as I walked up the driveway, this caught my eye.

I saw potential. And it was an amazing bargaining price of $25.00! It used to be an old record player. I love antiques even more than I love garage sales- I knew I had to have it! After a little (ok-alot) of time spent sanding and painting, Im very happy with my red friend.

Here was her first home, in Dumas.

Here she is brightening up our apartment here in Dallas.

In the future she may get a new color of paint, but I will definately be keeping her around for a while!
