Marble Slab on a Warm Spring Night....

So Katie thought it was pretty funny for Dillon to lug around our huge camera case just to get ice cream- but we are going to take it with us just like we did our older (easier to travel with) camera or we will never take any pictures!

I have enjoyed spending time with Katie these past few weeks. She came home from Jordan at the beginning of April, and has plans to return in late summer.
(We both got lemon custard- a classic flavor that reminds me of trips to Baskin Robbins growing up!)

Picture Day

We finally inveseted in a good camera (after much research and toil), here are some pictures we took Saturday morning in a field of bluebonnets in Plano. Dillon took most of these - be impressed - it was our first time to experiment with the different settings!

A Week Long Celebration

Dillon always jokes that April is his birthday month so we should celebrate the whole month long- usually I roll my eyes but this year we actually did stretch out the festivities~

Last Saturday we had our friends Ryan and Emily over for Spicy Shrimp per Dillons request. This meal can be found on Pioneer Womans website- I made it for the first time about 2 years ago and it quickly became one of Dillons favorites...just be aware that a stick of butter and tons of salt go into this dish! We treated ourselves to frozen yogurt then watched a VERY manly movie (Law Abiding Citizen)- good times with good friends.

On Tuesday night our small group met at Babes in Frisco. It felt like we were in West Texas again! We had never eaten there- it's homestyle cooking (fried chicken, chicken fried steak, bisquits&honey, mashed potatoes, corn) and we really enjoyed the time with the group. Dillon did the chicken dance -and really got into it I might add- and the night was complete.

On his birthday we celebrated with family at Justin and Tasha's- it was a really nice night so we ate on their patio as the sun was setting and drank wine. Dillon had his cookie cake and I broke my sugar/dessert fast... I thought I was going to want to eat the whole thing but I did pretty good with a medium size piece (and then another right before bed).

Since we don't have a working camera at the time, here is a picture our friend took at Babes (that's Dillon with sparkle hair getting his groove on)

Feelings

Do ya'll like the title of this post? A little cheesy- but its the topic today!

I have been feeling pretty good physically. I gave up desserts/sweets 1 week ago just for kicks- my sister in law recruited several Fergusons to join her on a sugar cleanse- that meant no cookies after dinner, no candy at work (which was a feat considering Easter was this past weekend!) and no more than 1 piece of my moms strawberry pie last Sunday (that was my 1 splurge that I decided on before I commited). The result- dropped a couple of pounds unintentionally and gained alot more energy that I never knew I didnt have!

I have been feeling 'Springy'. I am loving the warm weather and green green grass in Dallas- finally seeing some good come from all the rain we had. At work I always look wistfully out my window and tell myself I will go running when I get home. It's the thought that counts right =)

I have been feeling determined. Determined to work harder. To cook more and eat out less. To be nicer. To read more. Go to bed earlier. I dont know why but I'm just more determined lately- which will hopefully turn into actions and then results. Because faith without works is dead. Which has nothing to do with this post but I wanted to throw that in hehe~

I have been feeling proud. My husband is learning some REALLY cool things in school, and is applying them- yesterday he told me he wants to serve me more...ummm awesome! He has been working out, eating well, teaching wisely and I love him!

I have been feeling happy. My family is all in Texas for the time being, we all got to spend Easter together. Some are facing decisions, some are accepting new things- but they all seem at peace and this makes me happy.
