(Photos out of order)
Last week was Spring Break, and yesterday was the time change so I was expecting today to be bumpier than it was. Lee had a nightmare and came and got in bed with us, and I woke up early when I heard Dillons new coffee pot ding at 545 am. I actually enjoy getting up first, before the sun is up so that’s what I did. I was inspired to document our day, simple but so precious to me.
I fed the dogs, made the kids lunches (usually they get sausage balls today it was salami for Reese and a Turkey/cheese sandwich for Lee), unloaded the dishwasher and made my green tea.
I had to wake Reese and Lee up around 7:20, they were both in our room sleeping. Stuart came out on his own around the same time, and all the kids got their cereal (Reese’s Puffs) after sitting by the fire.
I got ready and came out and Reese said “Oh I like your shirt mommy!” And Dad agreed.
We loaded up around 815, and got to carline at MCA. The sun is always so bright in our eyes but I guess with the time change it wasn’t as bad today, though we were in the far back of the line. The kids bickered a little because Reese was cold but Lee was hot and didn’t want the heat blowing. I distracted them by putting an old Kidventure CD on (Oh Happy Day blasted), and they were happy to hear the songs and watch me do some motions :)
After drop off Stuart told me “I just want to go home and play with my car.” So we went home and our day began. Stu and I made my bed, and then he requested to paint dinotrucks coloring pages. I pulled some up on my phone and He picked 2 pages for him and he also picked the one I was going to paint :) Then he watched Dinotrucks and I registered the kids for Science Camp this summer at the Petroleum Museum. Then we headed to the Library, then the car wash. Dillon texted to see if we wanted to have lunch- yes! So we picked him up at 1130 and ate at Dona Anitas. Stuart ate a sandwich I made for him, Dillon got carne asada and I ordered enchiladas. Then back home where I got dinner ready (clean the chicken for a roast chicken,) then watched Stu jump on the trampoline, swept the back porch and pushed Stuart on the swing. Time to go get R&L, Stu fell asleep in the car. Home for snacks and a show (it is Reese’s day of the week to pick.)
Then all the kids played wizards in our newly cleaned garage. At 550 we all loaded up and headed to Butler for flag football practice for Lee. Scott and Mollie are in town for her work so they came to watch too! Practice ended around 715. Reese and Stu play on the playground, though first Dillon and Reese worked on some of her homework in the car.
Finally, a late but yummy dinner of Ina Gartens roast chicken and yeast rolls! (Lee dips his rolls in milk) Dillon always does the honors of carving chicken. I asked the kids to share what everyone in their class did for spring break while we ate. (We went to Geronimo Creek with friends!) I reminded them that we have Oreos for dessert so Lee ran and got the box down and brought it to the table and we all ate some (with glasses of milk of course. Dillon has passed on his habit of putting several Oreos in his milk and eating it with a spoon so now that’s what Reese will do.)
Dillon did dishes, Reese took a bath, and Stu and Lee played the switch/video games. For story time they all wanted me to read a few chapters from the Goosebumps book ‘Cuckoo Clock of Doom.
